Mago Masterclass: Darryl Dikarrna with White Cockatoo
White Cockatoo, 2006
This is a classy CD in all respects. Competent studio
recording/mastering coupled with professional graphic

stories in the Kuninjku and English language, and the
full emsemble of voice, clapsticks and mago accompaniment,
this is a must-have CD for all didgeridoo enthusiasts
looking for cultural insight and technical advancement.

Milkay Mununggurr: Hard Tongue Didgeridoo
Exercises in Northeast Arnhem Land Yidaki Style
Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Centre, 2005
Yolngu people of North-east Arnhem Land, Australia,
call the didgeridoo yidaki. Their ngänarr-däl,
or hard tongue, style has been called the hardest didge
playing to learn. On this CD, ceremonial and original
Yothu Yindi player Milkayngu Mununggurr distills yidaki
playing to the basics. Spoken and detailed written instructions
& diagrams accompany the exercises... If you play didgeridoo
and have struggled to learn the Yolngu yidaki playing
style, this is the primer you need.

notes read: "This is the first authentic Australian
aboriginal music ever to be recorded. Because of its

field, for posterity. Prof. A. P. Elkin probably knows
